Suspects identified in Aberdeen police pursuit that ended in crash
The Aberdeen Police Department has identified three men who are accused of stealing from Moore County retail stores and leading police on a chase that ended in a crash on Friday. The three suspects from Lumberton are identified as Jaquan Hill, 30, Kenyatta French, 46, and Christopher Williams, 41.
Staff at the sports store, Going Going Gone!, reported a larceny in progress with the suspects leaving in a gold sedan. Aberdeen officers observed the suspect vehicle heading south on U.S. 1 toward downtown Aberdeen. Officers attempted a traffic stop at Elm Street, and the vehicle sped up and, as it entered the intersection at Highway 5 and U.S. 1, it crashed into two other vehicles, said Aberdeen Police Chief Brian Chavis.
The suspects fled from the sedan. An Aberdeen officer immediately caught Williams after a foot chase. French was found inside a convenience store. Hill fled into the woods.
K-9 units from the Pinebluff Police Department and the Sheriff’s Office immediately responded, and a perimeter was set up around the wooded area. After a short time, Hill surrendered, and police located suspected narcotics on him.
“Aberdeen officers began processing the vehicle, after viewing stolen property from Going, Going, Gone in the front passenger floorboard,” said the Aberdeen Police Department. “Additional stolen clothing items were located inside the vehicle from Ross and TJ Maxx. A bag containing suspected narcotics was located inside the vehicle, and a glass pipe with drug residue was located by the rear tire of the vehicle.
“Aberdeen officers conducted further investigations with Going, Going, Gone, TJ Maxx, and Ross. Officers reviewed video surveillance and transaction receipts and confirmed Hill, French, and Williams entered each store, selected merchandise, and exited without making any attempt to pay. Over $2,000.00 in merchandise was stolen and subsequently recovered from within the vehicle.”
Williams was transported to Moore Regional Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. It was determined that Williams had 14 outstanding felony warrants out of Robeson, Sampson, Cumberland, Wake, and Buncombe counties for various felony larcenies, drug charges, conspiracy charges, reckless driving, and resisting public officer. After being cleared from the hospital, Williams was charged with felony larceny, felony organized retail theft, felony conspiracy, felony possession of stolen property, two counts of misdemeanor larceny, two counts of misdemeanor possession of stolen property, and misdemeanor resisting a public officer.
Hill was arrested and charged with felony larceny, felony organized retail theft, felony conspiracy, felony possession of stolen property, felony flee & elude with a motor vehicle, two counts of misdemeanor larceny, two counts of misdemeanor possession of stolen property, misdemeanor resisting a public officer, reckless driving to endanger, hit/run leave the scene, failure to reduce speed, failure to maintain lane control, failure to stop at a steady red light, expired inspection, revoked tag, expired registration, no liability insurance, and driving while license revoked.
French was arrested and charged with felony larceny, felony organized retail theft, felony conspiracy, felony possession of stolen property, two counts of misdemeanor larceny, two counts of misdemeanor possession of stolen property, misdemeanor resisting a public officer, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
All subjects were cleared from Moore Regional Hospital, then they were taken before a Moore County magistrate. Williams was given a $50,000 secured bond for his new charges and an additional $99,500 secured bond for his charges out of Robeson, Sampson, Cumberland, Wake, and Buncombe counties. French was given a $50,000 secured bond, and Hill was given a $25,000 secured bond.
All suspected narcotics will be sent to the State Crime Lab for testing. Additional charges will be obtained at a later time, pending the results.
Defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Two people were arrested in connection with a series of vehicle break-ins linked to a Felony Lane Gang operating across multiple states.
According to the Aberdeen Police Department, officers responded to OrangeTheory Fitness on August 4 after a vehicle was broken into and items were reportedly stolen.
“Investigators began following leads and linked the case to similar cases in Southern Pines, Pinehurst, Foxfire, Pittsboro, High Point, and Fuquay-Varina,” states the Aberdeen Police Department in a press release. “A multi-jurisdictional investigation began, and investigators verified suspects in this case were part of a Felony Lane Gang that was targeting vehicles at gyms across several states.”
Detectives identified the suspect vehicle as a rental car and located it at Raleigh-Durham International Airport. Surveillance footage from a bank in Cary helped investigators identify Victoria Tudor, 48, of Raleigh, and Ethan Smith, 33, of Youngsville, as suspects.
Warrants were issued on September 26. Smith is facing charges of felony obtaining property by false pretenses, and Tudor is facing charges of felony conspiracy to obtain property by false pretenses. On November 7, officers with the Fuquay-Varina Police Department and the Raleigh Fugitive Task Force located the pair. Both were taken before a Wake County magistrate and received $5,000 secured bonds.
Police said the case remains open as investigators continue working with surrounding agencies to identify additional suspects.

Three people were arrested Thursday after Moore County Sheriff’s Office investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Bell Fork Road in the Heflin Mobile Home Park in Aberdeen.
Detectives conducted the search on Nov. 13 and seized suspected cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, marijuana, multiple items of drug and marijuana paraphernalia, thirteen firearms, and more than $2,800 in cash.
Investigators arrested Jose Sanchez, 26, of Aberdeen, and charged him with felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance; possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine; felony possession of cocaine; possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana; felony possession of marijuana; two counts of maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for controlled substances; and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Moore County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in district court on Dec.10.
Tabitha Sanchez, 56, of Aberdeen, was charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance; simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance; and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was held at the Moore County Detention Center under a $5,500 secured bond and is also scheduled to appear in district court on Dec.10.
Brandy Grice, 50, of Aberdeen, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was committed to the Moore County Detention Center under a $5,500 secured bond and has the same Dec. 10 district court date.
